If spelling, grammar, and punctuation make you nervous, you’re not alone. Most people would like to get by with an automatic spell check but know that’s not nearly enough to ensure their writing is error-free, clear, and succinct.
I’m your quality assurance expert for your written words. You concentrate on the content; I’ll correct and polish your project—without changing your message or voice.
We can work together electronically or by hard copy.
In digital files, I use the editing features of Word (Track Changes and Comment Boxes) or Adobe Acrobat (Text Edits and Sticky Notes). You’ll see my corrections and suggestions directly on the screen and can accept or reject them with a simple click.
On hard copies, I use standard proofreader’s marks and notes written in the margin.
Either way, you will be able to read my work clearly, and I’m always available for follow-up questions.
Once I review a sample of your project and we discuss exactly what you want, I will give you a written quote for the entire project.
I use the following style guides and resources, which are industry standards:
Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition (book publishing)
Associated Press Stylebook (periodical publishing)
Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition
The Copyeditor’s Handbook, 3rd edition, by Amy Einsohn
The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style, Robert Hudson, General Editor
Copy Editing and Proofreading

A final, thorough line-by-line check for accuracy of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting before the material is sent to your printer, publisher, or agent.
