Editing Services
As a children's editor, I am your quality assurance expert for your written words. You concentrate on the content; I’ll correct and polish your project—without changing your message or voice. I offer Line Editing, Copy Editing, and Proofreading.
We can work together electronically or by hard copy. In digital files, I use the editing features of Word (Track Changes and Comment Boxes). You’ll see my corrections and suggestions directly on the screen and can accept or reject them with a simple click. On hard copies, I use standard PROOFREADER'S MARKS and notes written in the margin.
Either way, you will be able to read my work clearly, and I am always available for follow-up questions.
Pricing: Once I review a sample of your project and we discuss exactly what you want, I will give you a written quote for the entire project.
Resources:
I use the following style guides and resources, which are industry standards:
-
Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition (book publishing)
-
Associated Press Stylebook (periodical publishing)
-
Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition
-
The Copyeditor’s Handbook, 3rd edition, by Amy Einsohn
-
The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style, Robert Hudson, General Editor
